Unscrupulous spammer uses the leaked MtGox database, trying to recruit traders with his referral code to TradeHill. TradeHill takes a stance against this and closes spamming accounts.
Here is a copy of the email:
Dear Sir or Madam,
Some hours ago, Mt Gox was hacked. The hackers were able to copy the entire Mt Gox user database with user names, email addresses and encrypted passwords. This database is now publicly shared on the net.
Being a big Bitcoin supporter I'm
sending spamming an message to each email address that is to be found in the hacked Mt gox database in order to warn you of the fact that your user name, email and pass has been leaked and is available for anyone to download. I strongly advice you to change your password on any site where you used the same password, as soon as possible!
Luckily, there is a safer alternative than Mt Gox. It appears the Bitcoin community is moving to TradeHill and the fact that Mt gox is hacked is no reason to lose faith in the Bitcoin currency. But still, your money and information is not safer than the site you entrust them with! Their link is http://www.tradehill.com/?r=TH-XXXXXX (If you want, you may delete the Referral Code when you register!) There are also other sites that you can try for buying and selling Bitcoins and you can check them out at http://www.thebitcoinlist.com/dp_bitcoin/bitcoin-exchange/
